a 366 photo challenge for 2012 - I have joined the friendly crowd at Elements Village on the web and have decided to start at 'A' and follow the 366 themes daily - I like the idea that I will need to take (or make) images that will stretch my skills and imagination - and if I throw in a few extras just for fun - forgive me - OK? Trying to stay focused for a whole year will be a challenge in itself - wish me luck and come and visit anytime...

February 17 - Cleanliness
Cleanliness is for the birds! We have several bird baths in our yard but most are hidden under trees where the little finches and wrens feel safe. This one is a bit easier to photograph and was full of noisy mynas having their morning bath. Quite a social event!

Have the same here...love watching then splashing
ReplyDeleteAlas they aren't Noisey Mynas (An Aussie bird) they are Indian Mynas and they kill all the finches and sparrows in an area and are taking over.
ReplyDeletesorry Ron, I spelt it wrongly - they are aussies - noisy miners - a honeyeater and easy to tell the difference from the introduced birds because the indian mynas are brown and black, not grey and white even though the eyes are similar. Next time I'll check my spelling :)
DeleteThe public bath was busy . . . very nice stop action capture.
ReplyDeleteThey look so serious about it.
ReplyDeleteLove the little guy's head sticking out of the bath!
ReplyDeleteSuperb catch, love all the wet plumage!
ReplyDeleteNever seen one of these...BEAUTIFUL! Love this!
