February 10 - childhood

Living on the coast, much of my childhood was spent at the beach where we could run and dig and play without the confines of fences or rules. Exploring rock pools and building sandcastles lasted through summer and in winter you just wore warmer clothes. This little chap was meeting sand for the first time and was soon knocking down sandcastles like a pro...

  3. This picture makes me laugh--the angle and the crop make it look like the toddler is a giant about to wreak havoc on a world.

  8. No cropping involved - that's just a low angle and a nice close shot. I liked the way the baby isn't the image, it's all about the sandcastles and imminent destruction...

  9. I love this! A really fine perspective and all around feel. Brave too to get your camera so low to the sand.

  12. I also lost my camera at the beach. Running across a jetty and slipped. :) I agree with everybody...this is cool in the Godzilla about to crumple Tokyo feel that it gives, and I love the composition and timing of the capture.
