a 366 photo challenge for 2012 - I have joined the friendly crowd at Elements Village on the web and have decided to start at 'A' and follow the 366 themes daily - I like the idea that I will need to take (or make) images that will stretch my skills and imagination - and if I throw in a few extras just for fun - forgive me - OK? Trying to stay focused for a whole year will be a challenge in itself - wish me luck and come and visit anytime...

February 26 - Contrast
We have been away for a week, so it's catch-up time! Contrast is the word of the day and I love the contrast of this red lock on the black chain-link fence. It is popular in Europe for newlyweds to put a lock onto a prominent fence and throw away the key - Makes me wonder - if it isn't 'forever' do they come back and cut the lock away?? I have noticed a couple of these in Australia recently - maybe the practise is starting here as well...

Full frame or aptly cropped this is VERY nicely done with the diagonal look.
ReplyDeleteBTW it hasn't caught on here as yet but it sure is a cute idea
This was full frame - I like to get in close and always have to remind myself to also step back and get the 'big picture' as well as the detail :)
DeleteGreat composition...I think this practice is peculiar to continental Europe cos I've never seen one in the UK...
ReplyDeleteNow that is a fun tradition...never heard of doing that...I am sure you probably have seen tons of this scene! Can't miss that lock, that is for sure!
ReplyDeleteLove the diagonal composition on this contrasty image.
ReplyDeletegreat contrast colours, neat tradition, I'll be looking for these now, if i've seen them before i didn't know the story behind them
