a 366 photo challenge for 2012 - I have joined the friendly crowd at Elements Village on the web and have decided to start at 'A' and follow the 366 themes daily - I like the idea that I will need to take (or make) images that will stretch my skills and imagination - and if I throw in a few extras just for fun - forgive me - OK? Trying to stay focused for a whole year will be a challenge in itself - wish me luck and come and visit anytime...

March 14th - Discovery
The coast walk from Bundeena in the Royal National Park is a spectacular one, with massive coastal cliffs of honey coloured sandstone, heathlands with hundreds of birds and the occasional unexpected discovery such as these little groups of mushrooms, pushing up from the sand. It was raining during the walk and when I downloaded the photos, I discovered a reflection of the photographer in one group of mushrooms - hmmm...

Don't think I've ever seen mushrooms growing along the coast before. An interesting find. I especially like the way you composed the top image and the bits of sand clinging to the cap.
ReplyDeleteMight have missed you in the second if you didn't call our attention to it...fun!
Love the reflection . . . I didn't know mushrooms would grow along the coast.
ReplyDeleteAaahhhhhh I love fungi.....and yes, they grow EVERYWHERE....great captures...and yes I see you
ReplyDeleteIt almost looks like you used selective coloring in these images, but I have a feeling those are the natural colors! Very nice work!
ReplyDeleteI thought that too when I posted them, but yes, just the natural colours. Thanks!
DeleteThose ruddy brown caps stand out so well against the monochromatic background.
ReplyDeletethe detail of the sand grains is very nice, and these lovely fungi look good enough to eat as well
ReplyDeleteA unique place to grow, super capture!
