a 366 photo challenge for 2012 - I have joined the friendly crowd at Elements Village on the web and have decided to start at 'A' and follow the 366 themes daily - I like the idea that I will need to take (or make) images that will stretch my skills and imagination - and if I throw in a few extras just for fun - forgive me - OK? Trying to stay focused for a whole year will be a challenge in itself - wish me luck and come and visit anytime...

March 1st - Crooked
A crooked little hut at Cattle Creek, built in one day by timber cutters 99 years ago with saplings and cast-off sheets of corrugated iron from other constructions. They used this hut and others nearby as shelter when they were in the forest working for weeks at a time. I thought that this image needed B&W as a small tribute to its heritage...

B&W works nicely for this--it lest the textures take center stage.
ReplyDeleteB&W really works for this image...but if I may, it could do with being a bit punchier.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I thought you might say that ;) I will take it back to PS and see what I can do...
DeletePerfect processing...but maybe lighten the shadows a bit. Great textures too!
ReplyDeleteThanks :) the shadows are better in the bigger image, can see the inside detail just a little, but I obviously need to do some more work on this to make it better...
DeleteBlack and white is perfect for the shack.
ReplyDeleteGuess there wasn't loads of time for them to plane the timbers. I very much like the b&w!
ReplyDeleteBlack and white is perfect for this shot.
ReplyDeletePerfect indeed for b&w. Looks like it was in dappled sun/shade which I find we see better in than our cameras.
